  • Everyone has their own reasons for taking on a challenging event like the Oahu Pentathlon. I will keep my reasons private but I hope everyone found what they were looking for out there. I had 16+ hours alone with myself and my thoughts. I learned a few things along the way. At this point, I am looking forward to the next challenge.

Travis Fitzgerald, 2022 Solo Trek athlete

  • I always get a happy high from volunteering, being an endurance person giving back to the community feels incredible. Meeting like minded people makes me feel more like I belong in the community

    Amanda Kitson, 2022 Volunteer

  • I encountered just about every emotion on the spectrum along the way. Excitement, fear, love, doubt, helplessness, gratitude... any day where I can experience all of that is a gift. My sense of spirituality comes from community and camaraderie and the people that came together for that day and leading up to it make my cup feel so full. For myself, events like this affirm that I am capable of trekking into the unknown and accomplishing goals I didn't even know I had. In this moment, I have only gratitude to my friends, my body, and this community.
